What words do I use to give reverence to Your Holiness?
Are there sufficient words to explain Your Righteousness?

BACK IN THE FIGHT!!

In the beginning, it all came so easy. I started Weight Watcher’s, changed my diet and began losing weight. I was feeling so good. I had more energy. I felt like I had finally conquered, what I call, “The thorn in my side”. After getting married and having children, I always seem to struggle with my weight. This time however, I really believed that the struggle was over. I even stood up before our church congregation and told them that I finally was in a place of victory and I wasn’t going back. WRONG!!!!! Without warning, I was completely blindsided! Like a boxer, in round 2, I was feeling a little weary and out of focus. Suddenly, I was hit with a left, then a right and BOOM, the uppercut made me weak at the knees and I was down for the count! “One, two, three…….”

There Is More

This Christian walk has taken me through many different training fields. Some more difficult than others. As a younger Christian, The Lord  seemed to appease me much quicker. As the years passed and I matured, things did not come as easily.  I would question and long for the days of ‘quick appeasing’. I realize now that time does not necessarily mean wisdom. Wisdom is developed as you gain knowledge and experience and learn to use good judgment.

The struggles, trails, tribulations and wilderness that we have to walk through as Christians, gives us endurance and builds our faith, opens our Spiritual eyes and teaches us to listen for Holy Spirit’s voice. Our stamina is enhanced and allows us the ability to press in and lean on the Word of God. It is all part of a Christian’s workout to strengthen and build up Spiritual muscles and to make us warriors; Soldiers in the army of God. It is all in preparation for the battle against the enemy.

I recently attended a conference, IGAP 2013 (International Gathering of Apostles and Prophets), where I know I received a new level of impartation. Prior to attending, I had been feeling like there was more to my walk but, I just couldn’t put my finger on it. I had this anxious feeling in the pit of my belly. I was desiring to go deeper and to see a supernatural manifestation take place. My husband and our eldest daughter were there with me. We received revelation that opened our eyes to things we thought we already knew but we didn’t have clarity. I, myself not only received revelation but a new excitement and strength to move forward in my call.

We all have times in our lives that we feel like, “there has to be more”. We all get sad, angry, tired, discouraged, fearful and sometimes we just want to throw in the towel. We were not created to give up, back down or cower from the difficult things. The bible tells us in Joshua 1:9:
‘Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.’ And Romans 8:31b says: ‘……If God be for us, who can be against us?’
So be encouraged! Your “more” is waiting for you. You’re just steps away from something wonderful. It’s gonna be worth it!

A Powerful Marriage

A couple of weeks ago, at bible study, My husband (pastor Eric) and I  had everyone sit in a circle. It was our way of making everyone feel part of what we were about to discuss; marriage. It seems, lately, that we are having more and more married couples complaining about their relationships. The problem seems to be, that too many couples have lost sight of how much work we are actually supposed to put into our marital relationships in order to make it the marriage that God intended.

 

Eric and I have been married for 27 years. We were both young when we married. I was 19 and he was 21. We started having children immediately and quickly realized, that our “feelings” for one another was not enough to get us through all the hardships we were going to endure. If it had not been for our desire to please God and our love for Him, we would not have come this far. I could pretty much guarantee that we would have divorced more than 20 years ago.

 

A Mother’s Gift

It was baffling, the way my mom always seemed to know when something was wrong with me. It was as if she had a spy following me around. There was very little that I could do that she would not find out about. All my sneaky planning, lying and excuse making was a waste, because without fail, I would be confronted by mom. I still remember clearly so many of “those” conversations we would have. Let me give you a visual:

WORDS ALIVE

It’s been quite a while since I’ve been inspired to write. I can’t really explain why, but I will say this, I won’t write until The Lord says, ” it’s time to write”

Well, the word finally came and I heard Him say;
“Writing is a gift. It is an outlet. It is a place of relief. It is a lesson, a learning, a teaching.
It can bring life or death.
Writing brings a smile, a laugh and or a tear.
Writing gives perspective and that perspective will cause change or keep things stagnant.
the words that are written are read and once read, absorbed and once they are absorbed, they become part of a life…..
what you write are words and words are alive!”

Now, I write this to YOU:

You were created for a reason.
You are special and no one can be YOU the way you can.
The Lord has great things for you.
Embrace Him and never let Him go.
He is the Potter and you are the clay.
Allow Him to mold you and shape you and recreate you.
Although the process may be long and tedious, the out come will be wonderful and well worth it.
So now, beautiful one, believe that you are loved!
The Lord had me write this ESPECIALLY for YOU!
He wanted you to be reminded of just how wonderful YOU TRULY ARE!s

BECAUSE

This earth, although at times cruel and ugly, is heaven to me,
because you are with me.

The ocean, with it’s terrible waves crashing, will not cause me to shake or be afraid,
because you are with me.

Even through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not be fearful of evil,
because you are with me.

The sky, far and untouchable, becomes an easel of magnificent artwork,
because you are with me.

The sweet perfume of flowers rises up to greet me,
because you are with me.

My heart, filled with songs of praise, dances before you,
because you are with me.

The oil of Your anointing runs through my veins and I am completely saturated,
because You are with me.

Abba, I rejoice in knowing that Your Love for me is eternal. It will never end,
because You will never leave me!

Speaking Out

I was shocked to hear about the scrutiny that the president of Chik-Fil-A was undergoing because he spoke what he believed. When asked what he felt about gay marriage, he responded by saying that he believes what the bible says; one man and one woman. This response caused an out cry from those who believe that marriage should not only be between a man and a woman. Now, they are trying to stop the growth of this christian company. However, today, August 1st is the day we show our support for what we (christians) believe, the TRUTH! I made it a point to go and order lunch at Chick-Fil-A and many others are doing the same.

Worship

I have a very vivid memory of being thirteen Years old, standing in front of the mirror in my bedroom and singing into a hairbrush; imagining myself before a stadium of people. I really thought at that time that I wanted to be a famous singer. However, now I know that my love for singing was a gift of worship that the Lord placed within me.

Being a famous singer is no longer a dream of mine. I still love to sing however, I don’t do it for the entertainment of people but for the Lord himself. You see, at thirteen, I had not yet come to the knowledge of what it meant to live a life of worship. The truth is, even now at forty-six (did I just say that out loud?) I am still learning what it means to be a worshipper. What I have learned has come from Word and from experience. Since it has changed my life and continues to do so, I wanted to share some things with you about what I now know.

Worship is not only something we do in our churches on Sundays, It should be a way of life. everyday actions and reactions, our choices and decisions all should scream, I LOVE YOU LORD! We need to always be aware that we are His creation and we are fearfully and wonderfully made (psalms 139:14). We are to always be a good representation of our Father, that is worship!

A worshipper is an adorer. In other words, it is a person who honors, loves and respects God.
Everything in our lives has to show that honor, love and respect. As women, we are very emotional and sometimes we do things without first stopping to say, “Abba, does this make you happy?”. I once heard a sister in Christ say, “Every morning I stand in my closet and say, Lord, what do you want me to wear today?” At the time, I really thought that was going overboard. It seemed ridiculous to me. Why on earth should I ask the Lord what to wear? I really didn’t think He was concerned with “silly things like that”. What I didn’t realize was I was the one who wasn’t concerned. He always wants to be included in our decision making. He knows that we will never make the right choices if He isn’t included. Allowing Him in, that is worship.

To worship in the greek is, ‘proskyneo’ which means to kiss like a dog, licking his master’s hand; to fawn or crouch to; to prostate oneself in homage. I know that the kissing like a dog thing sounds very strange but, think about it: a dog wants nothing more than to please his master. The dog’s licking (kissing) is a sign of complete surrender and love. He (the dog) will crouch down low before his master to show that he understands who is in charge. He will lay at his master’s feet because he know he is safe with him and wants to remain as close as possible. That is worship.

I continue daily to learn how to be a worshipper. I try to include the Lord in every part of my life and when I fail, it is always revealed to me and I am offered the opportunity to repent. I no longer stand in front of the mirror singing to an invisible crowd. Now, I stand before my Father, my Creator, my Redeemer, my Savior, my Provider, my Healer and my Lord.

If you have been lacking in your worship, make a decision this very moment to include the Lord in every part of your life. Spend time at His feet, kiss Him, surrender to Him and ask Him, “what do you expect of me today, Abba?” That is worship.
